Frequently asked questions
You export your own YouTube session as a cookies.txt file from the browser where you are signed in, and upload it with the link. The download then runs with exactly the access your account has: if you hold the membership, the video resolves normally; if you do not, it stays unavailable.
No, and it cannot. Nothing here unlocks anything β it presents your existing session to YouTube, the same one your browser uses. A video your account cannot watch returns the same refusal it would on youtube.com. You still need the membership, the share, or whatever access the video requires.
Sign in to youtube.com, install a "Get cookies.txt" extension for your browser, open the video, and export in the Netscape format. Upload that exact file here. Only the YouTube and Google lines are kept; everything else in the file is discarded before it is used.
It is never written to our database and never logged. Non-Google cookies are stripped out immediately, the rest is written to a private file inside the job's temporary folder, and that file is overwritten and deleted the moment the download finishes β well before you collect the video.
A cookie jar is an account credential, so treat it like one wherever you use it. If you would rather not, sign out of the browser you export from afterwards, which invalidates the session, or use a desktop tool on your own machine instead. The safest habit is to export, download, then sign out.
YouTube accepted the session but refused the video, which means the signed-in account is not a member of that channel, the membership lapsed, or the export came from a different account than you expected. Re-export the cookies while signed in as the member account and try again.
Unlisted videos you have the link for, private videos the owner has shared with your account, and members-only or channel-perk videos your membership covers. Anything else is refused, exactly as it would be in the browser.
